9 Deuce
The fifth of the Romero zombie films and I would guess a polarizing film. Yes, it is like a found footage style, but with actual good camerawork. So the camerawork isn’t actually a problem when viewing, but I guarantee that it instantly turned away a large number of viewers. When some college kids see the […]
The fourth of the Romero zombie films, it came out 20 years after his previous one, Day of the Dead. Land of the Dead feels different, looks very modern, and has a couple of big names in it like Dennis Hopper and John Leguizamo. Also, Tom Savini makes an appearance, so that’s ALWAYS a plus […]
The follow up to the much beloved Romero classics. It never gets as much love and adulation as Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead. Hell, is it even the third best of Romero’s “of the Living Dead” franchise? I’m going to say no, I’d probably rank it fourth. But it is […]
Time to review one of the most highly regarded horror films of all time by everybody’s favorite zombie filmmaker, George Romero. Is it safe to assume that you know the plot already? Eh, it’s a 40-year-old movie, so maybe not. In the third week of the zombie outbreak, Stephen and Fran plan on stealing a news […]
I remember being initially excited about this film. I truly enjoyed the first film and hope that it would return more toward that. Then the film was set to be released and then the protests. The director, Victor Salva, has a past involving child molestation and child porn. Because there is a sexual abuse story […]
I kept getting drawn to this film. I didn’t understand how it would be horror. In the end, it was definitely a blend of comedy, fantasy, and horror. Don’t expect crazy blood and guts. Expect red and pink yarn though. The film is about Dave making a cardboard maze in his living room and being […]
The sequel to Pumpkinhead is definitely odd. Is this even a real sequel? It feels like they drastically changed the mythology in this one. This also got a video game release on the PC on DOS, as a first-person shooter. Well, I’ll be damned! As I said, this doesn’t seem to have anything to do […]
This is one of those classic 80’s horror films that I never got around to seeing for some reason or another. It has Lance Henriksen, so I was ready to be pleased. The plot to this is that Ed Harley (Lance) has a son named Billy. They have this tiny general store, and their faithful […]
I went in this expecting an absolutely terrible film for me to rip apart. I really like Alycia Debnam-Carey though and wanted to give her a chance. I hate social media, and you know that you’re dealing with dumbass college kids whose lives revolve around it. This wasn’t great, but it wasn’t terrible either. Let’s […]
Splatter is a 29-minute short film on NetFlix. On IMDB they treat it like it was a tv series, but this felt like a standalone short. After some research, I found this on Wikipedia and it helps explain the final product a bit better. Not so much in the form of spoilers, but production and […]
