I’ll be totally transparent, I just wanted to sit back, watch a horror movie without looking at this screen, without taking notes, just relax and view. Well, I regret that decision because of the vast amount of one-liners I didn’t note, or how many topless girls we got (I think it was 2), or to mark out with full-frontal nudity. These things all count. Did you know women basically grow a bush for showing full frontal because showing shaved beaver would probably result in an NC-17 rating.

I really loved the first half hour. So many funny one-liners. The good girl shows her ass right in the beginning, so Ass Man Kent was pleased. Then there’s the convenience store scene where the one girl in a skirt purposely bends over for the clerks to see while her friend steals all the party supplies.

Then it got slow for a bit, it took me out of it, so I started getting tired. It also didn’t help that I have seen the remake prior to this, and I loved it, so I had to really put that in perspective. Thankfully, they brought back the lipstick into the breast scene that is always so weird to me. Like it’s corny, but I love it. If you haven’t seen that particular scene, you are missing out.

There is a certain 80’s cheese factor, but in this case, I think it helps rather than hinder. The demon itself, it was funny to view, nothing you can truly take seriously. There is no scare factor. A black guy lives far, far longer than you would anticipate. Think the remake of House on Haunted Hill.

All in all, I truly enjoyed this movie and would like to find this on blu ray to add to my collection. It’s something I could watch every other year no doubt. I don’t want 80’s nostalgia to cloud my judgment, but this was a good movie really. I am going to give it a 6.8 and fully expect that rating to be higher upon further viewings, but I wanted to be realistic. I would recommend this to people who like funny one-liners, who love 80’s horror, who loves a movie about a bunch of teens having a party when something goes bad. This is the sorta shit I live for. So I highly recommend getting your grubby mitts on a copy of this movie.

Final Rating: 6.8
